April 1st Nemadji State Forest minn. trail ride

DaBoss, Great that makes 39 that say they are coming for sure! I wouldn't worry too much about the snow as 90% of where we will be riding is also for sleds in the winter. I would be prepared for the mud though. From what I've heard there is little to no frost in the ground where the snow wasn't packed by sleds. So I'm sure there will be plenty of mud.

Thor, I think there will be enough space to park. If not there are other parking options near there. Worst case, some of use might have a couple gravel road ride to hook with rest so no biggy
Talked to the owner of the Hitching Post Bar in Holyoke last, just to let him know we plan on swinging though for lunch. He said come hungry! Also said there was still 6-8 very hard base of snow on the trails with more than enough to get stuck in off trail! He said he hadn't seen anyone muddy yet either and he has seen a few wheelers through already.
SEE YOU ON THE 1ST!

Right on quadking, the url at the bottom will take you to the dnr trails page with the opening dates listed. Look for Yellow Birch, Continental Divide they are few we will be on. Besides the owner of the Hitching Post said he didn't have a sled all last weekend but a couple of wheelers came though. Thats the bar where we will be eating lunch, its located in Holyoke. He also said the trails are open on the 1st.
I'm thinking Fruitjacket talked to a treehugger on the DNR's 1-800#. I'll call the Mora DNR tomorrow and find out. but regardless if you don't read it in the paper or hear it on the news the trails are open!
