Been riding southern Vermont trail and looking to expand our riding area. Currently live in Southern vermont. Thinking about trying out the Claremont N.H area. Any recomendations for N.H riding? or northern VT riding?

Hello, Nailbender. I'm part of the Sullivan County ATV Club. (SCATV) I know that, other than the railtrail going from Newport to Clarmont, the trails are closed for mud season. The trails there are basically two sections. One is a large loop north of Route 11. These are the directions that start from a Burger King on the east side of Claremont: Take a right hand turn out of the Burger King parking lot. Go past Walmart and to the next traffic light. Turn right at this traffic light onto Winter Street. Go about a half to three quarters of a mile on Winter St. to Veteran's Park Road on your right. Go about 2 1/2 miles up this road and you'll come to the intersection of Foisy Hill Road and Cat Hole Road. Bear to your left at the first Y, and then to the right at the second Y up the hill on Cat Hole Road. Drive to the end of the paved road and you'll see a dirt road going off to your right. This is the Class 6 part of Cat Hole Road. If you drive up in here about a half mile, you'll find a couple of large turn around areas to park and unload. This will take you to the Cat Hole trails (Whitewater, Cornish Turnpike, Tower Trails, Vern's Trail, etc.) Please do not block any part of the main road. This is still a class 6 road and must be passable at all times especially by emergency vehicles. Violators will be towed by the city at vehicle owners expense. The other half on the south side of Route 11 is accessible from the railtrail. Trail maps info is here: Trail Maps
I've also rode at Hopkinton/Everett. There are some good sandpits to ride in and a few trails. Not an all day type place. Limited trails. Jericho Lake ATV Park in Berlin is nice and they are constantly adding more trails. That's a big hike to get up there though. I may be trying Little Monadnock Family Trails this Saturday as some guys are going up. See: http://forums.atvconnection.com/wher...trails-nh.html
I rode some of the trails in the Barnard and Woodstock area of VT as my mother has property right on the trails. They were just starting to get them cut in then. That was back in 06. I'm thinking of registering up there someday to ride those trails but my problem with VT is they require you to join a club also and that is pretty expensive up there.
