WORST STUCK OR WORST CARSH STORIES !!!!

Better than just a story... I've got the video clip of my friend's recent crash on the "Big Double" at New Vienna's MX track (Ohio). I hear it's about 60' long but I've never seen it measured.
My crash (same day as my friend) was on the even bigger triple. Unfortunately his angle for taping at that time was far behind me. I'll add that clip later on in the week.
My clips are at http://DVNT1.homeip.net
Please post or email me any comments!

Never been seriously (life threatening hurt) but after reading thru these replies, I thought, I know my scariest wreck even though I never got hurt. Daniel Boone National Forest in Ky. We (all the guys I was riding with) would splash anyone any chance we got, like going around a mud puddle, we'd run up beside them and bury our quads in the mudhole and splash them good. I had been splashed twice by one of my buddies and hadn't gotten him back. There were two quads in between me and him, I got by the other two guys in the big opening on the way back to the parking lot. We were tooling along pretty good. I was on my 91 250X. I was in 5th about half throttle. He was going around a large puddle, I got up beside him, gave the handle bars a yank and pegged it. My right rear tire was the only tire that hit the water. It turned me right into him. My right front tire was in his lap and the bottom of my quad was hitting his left rear tire. I bailed off thinking the flipping was going to start at any time. I slid on my back on the gravel for a ways. Got up, not a scratch on me. Scared the crap out of me though. my quad never flipped, after I jumped off, it bounced off him and kept going. Another guy ran it down and stopped it. It was still running.
Worse ever stuck: 1986 Honda Fat Cat (dirt bike with ATV like tires on it) off of Alum Creek by Obetz. A riding area that's now off limits. On what I thought was a dried up lake bed. Buried it to where the rear fender was even with the ground. Dug it out by hand. 5 hours later it was out.

Well you guys will think we're wussies, but our worst "stuck story" happened a couple of weeks ago. Click on my webpage link below (www.vermont4wheeling.homestead.com), and then go to Pictures. Click on "Andy's 2000 Yamaha Warrior Pics" and you will see him trying to jump over a mudhole, and then you'll see the results.
Like I said, you'll think that we are pansies because it's not incredibly bad (not like some of the 4x4 ones I see on the net), but keep in mind that we are all only 2x4's and none of us carry a chain or tow rope. Also, FYI that is not water that he is stuck in...believe it or not but the water is only about 3" deep....the mud was at least 2'. My friend Mike tried lifting on the back of the quad and it just made him sink. When he stepped out of the mud his shoe wasn't on his foot any more. That was kinda funny (especially since it wasn't me).
Later,
-Josh
Anyway, thanks for looking

Ive been riding for quite some time now and ive had a few get-offs that could have been realy bad, but I never got hurt. That is until about 3 months ago. It was the first race at the new local mx track. I got there real early to get in some practice and get used to the track. I done good in practice, I was jumping some doubles that no one esle was doing and I started doubling out of one of the tripples that no one else was doing. Well I thought that I had it made and was going to finish good. In the first moto I come out of the first turn in 2nd ( the guy in first jumped the start) then I got passed in the second turn by another guy. I held my possition for 5 laps and was trying to take over 2nd place. Every one was complaining about the step-up jump saying that it was kicking there rear end up to much. I guess I was hitting it in a different place because it wasnt kicking me funny until lap 5. I hit it alittle to the left and the next thing I knew I was jumping up off the ground and getting back on my quad. It wouldnt start so I had to pull out of the race. Some friends and I figured out the problem (wire come disconnected)and got my quad running again. My handle bars were bent but we straightend them the best that we could. The only thing that was hurting on me was my left thumb and my right shoulder alittle, but not to much to not race the 2nd moto.
In the second moto I got the hole shot and come over the tabletop thinking that I was going to do good this time. About two seconds later comming up on the rythym section I was on the brakes, and then hit a rut. My thumb hit the throttle by mistake and into the rythyms I went. I crashed hard on the face of one of them and then the pain set in. I got back on and finnished the race last. My shoulder was hurting, but I thought that it would be fine after a couple days or so. I left the track about 1:45 and went home. I layed down about 3:30 or 4:00. When I woke up (because of the pain) I knew I needed to go to the emergency room. I swear it took me an hour just to change clothes. Every time I took an item off I had to lay down for a few minutes. Every time I put an item on I had to lay down a few munites. BY this time I started to get worried. Getting my socks and shoes on was the worst part. My dad drove me to the emergancy room and when I got there I got sick to my stomach (dont know if it was from all the pain or from the pain pills I had taken that were not working). After X-rays the doctor told me my thumb was ok, but my shoulder was separated. He gave me some pain pills and a sling and sent me home.
The doctor told me that I could go back to work that Monday but not to lift any more than 5lbs. Well come that Monday I was thinking that he was full of it. I tried to work that Wednesday, but only lasted three hours. I went to another doctor Thursday and he was upset about the first doctor I had seen. He gave me some more pills and a shot and some pills to help it to not get inflamed. That was all I needed and felt like a million dollars a few hours later. Sorry this is so long I got carried away.

Back in 1988 Myself and a few freinds were warming up our machines and waiting for one guy to get away from his girlfreind, I saw some tire tracks going over a mound of dirt at the end of the street. I had to investigate. I went over the mound and through some brush and saw a small hill going down, i was only about 6' up a gentle slope but there were train tracks at the bottom. I looked both ways and listened, nothing coming. Well as soon as i hit the bottom (right front tire touching the track) I heard the horn (there was a road crossing no more than 50 yds away and he didn't blow his horn before it). My only logical choice was to turn left and gun it but i didn't make it. Damage: right arm fracture requiring a bone graft, a metal plate and some screws. Left ankle fracture, metal plate and screws. Right hip shattered and even fracturing the ball at the top of the thigh bone, 4 plates and many screws. The right hand brake lever got stuffed up behind the family jewels and tore back 6" fortunately missing all major organs, skin graft and time to heal without the use of that area. After all that i was up and walking in 4 weeks. The quad only got a bent handle bar from when the train hit my arm.

I agree with DVNT1... Savage's story is by far the most painful. I can think of two stories. Luckly, I walked away from both of these with only bumps and bruises.
Last summer I had a bunch of friends over to my house, and we were all out riding our quads in the forests in the area. I had just bought a used Yamaha Warrior and I was anxious to get it out. We were making a new trail up the side of a hill. This hill was pretty steep and it was kinda unique. It went up fairly steep, dropped back down pretty steep, and then went right back up really steep. I was the second to traverse this trail. My cousin on his '94 Warrior made it ok. When I went up it, I made it up the first part of the hill ok, went down into the ravine, and hit the second part of the hill. I didn't have enough speed to make it up the hill so I made the mistake of hitting the throttle. The front end came up and I didn't have enough time to bail. The bike flipped over and rolled right on me, and then down the rest of the hill. It knocked the wind out of me, but I stood up after a minute (with the help of my friends), flipped over my bike, and successfully rode it up the hill I just messed up on. My back and my right leg hurt for about a week after this, but other than that I was ok.
The other story happened last labor day. My father was having a party on my grandpa's farm pond. He had a bunch of his friends down there, and my best friend and I had our quads down there. I was running my Warrior around the pond when I cought site of a nice mudhole. So I figured, what the heck. I hit the mudhole. Didn't quite make it. Got off the bike and got it out of the hole. This caught my dad's friends attention. The came over and started cheering me on "Give it more RPMs!". So I hit the mudhole again. Came closer this time, but still not quite. Got off the quad and got it out of the hole. They continued to cheer me on. "Give it more RPMs" they said. So I hit it one last time. I hit this mud hole in 3rd gear wide open. My right tire caught a tree stump and I got chucked over the bars head first into the mudhole. I was in the mudhole for a second with just my head in the mud. The rest of me was sticking out of the mud. I managed to flip myself over and stand up to see all of them laughing at me. Too bad I didn't have that on tape. That probably would have won some money on America's Funniest Homevideos.
