i was wondering if anyone has ever been riding there and what its like?? also if there are bathroom facilities etc. and how exactly to get there from lake charles. thanks

 

I've been to Claiborne numerous times and really like it. In fact, I was there last Sunday. There are three loops that are about 25-30 miles long each and lots of side trails. The only bathrooms there are two fancy port-o-potty type things in a concrete block building. I guess it's better than nothing. To get there from Lake Charles head east on I-10 to Hwy. 165. This is the Alexandria exit. Head north on Hwy 165 to Forest Hill. Once you pass the caution light at Forest Hill go about 2 miles to Hwy. 112, which is on the left. There will be a sign saying Leesville and Hineston. About a mile or 2 down Hwy. 112 the road will make a sharp right hand turn. After this curve take the second road on the right. There will be a sign that says Claiborne Multiple Use Trails here. This gravel/dirt road leads right into the staging area/campground. Send me a PM if you go and maybe we can get together for a ride.
