Sorry to see that you are cursed with some of the same peoblems we have out west. It does look like your DNR is sticking up for you a little.

In Utah, it seems all agencies bend over for the environmentalists.

Join the BRC, write your elected officials and buy faster bikes.

I wish you luck.

Hey,

I did some ciphering; Here's what I got.

1 acre is 43,560 Sq. feet.
16.7 million acres of state forest. Private, county and state owned. Minnesota has 58 forests 46 allow ATV's

1 Mile: 5,280 feet
1500 miles of trails in the forests
Trail width: 20 feet which is extremely liberal

16,700,000 Acres X 43,560 = 727,452,000,000 Square feet of forest. That's
727 Billion
1500 miles X 5280 = 7,920,000 feet.
7,920,000 feet X 20 width = 158,400,000 total square feet of trails
158,400,000 / 43,560 = 3636 Acres of Trails. In reality given the trail
width which is more like 6 feet or 1/3rd we have about 1250 total acres of
riding land. This equates to an average of 27.2 acres per legal ATV riding
areas.

Can't we all just get along? There's enough land to share for everybody.

Other fun Data:
Minnesota is 79,617 sq. miles or 50,954,880 square acres
Registered ATV's in 2001: 148,172

Total 2001 citations issued: 23. (17) ATV's (6) trucks and OHV. Now we can truly say that it is the smallist amount people that need to ruin everything.

Sounds like to many left wing, tree hugging liberals forcing their opinion on how Minnasota life should be. Things change. Life changes. What about the animals that crap next to a river or creek and cause cryto sporidium? Dont here to much about that. Minnesota has way to many regulations. For the amount of citations given out, you have some very law abiding riders or some very nice Conservation officers. Or both. Some little old lady or little old guy will read this article and believe that this is the way it is everywhere in Minnesota. The author wont point out that the areas he was talking about are designated state trails. As far as this guy that cant ride his horse or go on a picnic with his family....buy a four wheeler and see what you are missing!
