3 hours south of Omaha,(take I-80 to Lincoln, Then 77 south to randolph Kansas) there is a off road park called Tuttle creek, it has some nice trails and is open to the public, they have loading docks, staging areas, and a close camp ground, also it is near
Fort Riely and some nights durring the summer you can see and feel artilery testing as the ground shakes while you camp.

I did some checking and found out that there is a 350acre OHV park in the making in Council Bluffs. It is supposed to be for atv's, bikes and oddessy type machines. No jeeps and 4-wheel drives. That should be pretty convienient for you, right across the river.
I'm going to contact the club building it and see if there is anything I can do to help (River Valley Trail Riders, Inc). Iowa is pretty short on places to ride. It is a move in the right direction, in my opinion. If it goes well, maybe the DNR will open up more public areas, and put some of the trail$$ to work for off-roaders.
If there is anybody else out there that knows more about it, I'd love to hear from you. My e-mail is mxer-58@hotmail.com.

I have never rode at the tuttle creek jeep area, but i have walked around part of it. If you are going that far you should check out the riding area on the west side of milford lake about halfway down. Lots of trails and steep hills. Just guessing, i would say 500 to 600 acres. Another decent place is Perry lake in Kansas, probably 250 acres.
rapt. How's the huge flea market going? I've actually been there once.

Glad to here about the places to ride. There is supposed to be some old gravel pits and mine areas around where I live, but I'm not sure if it's legal to ride there or even who to ask permission. I'll have to keep checking.
Trent, they have a big antique thing here every year, but I have't lived here long enough to see it. Some of my friends said that there are people that actually leave town that week-end b/c it gets so crowded.
