Wife and I live in Lake County in Northern IL. We commonly ride at badlands or on friends farms in Indiana. We would love to find a decent spot a little closer to home to wheel around on , on the weekends. Bad lands is almost 4 hours away. Haspin acres is even further and I have only heard bad things about that place. I have never been to Fox Valley Off Road in Ottawa and really don't know anyhting about it. If any one knows of any good spots or decent local riding clubs. Pleas give me a shout

I think it's like 6 bucks to get in. or you can buy a sticker and go all year for like 20 bucks. give or take $10.

I have checked out Bong, i drove up there and just turned aroud and came home. Looked pretty boring. I have ridden in Darlington Wi, I think its called Cheese trail or something. It was ok at best very flat and straight just an old railroad bed I guess. I also heard all of the trails have a 30mph limit on them. I am positive some do, but I wouldn't think they would all be that slow. I live next to a sand quarry that is out of business, ocassionaly I see people ride there, but I am pretty new to the area so I don't know much about it.

I know there is a place behind the home depot on 12 there are some hills there if that is what you are looking for. There is also a place in crystal lake if your intrested in it let me know i can get directions for you. I don't think these places are legal but they usualy just look the other way.

We used to make darlington a yearly trip. When you leave the trail there is some good mud and hills, but it is very illegal and and highly patrolled. We got stopped by DNR ( trail cop) and he specifically told us to stay on the trail.

I heard about the place behind home depot, that is about 2 miles from my house. I have never been there, but am interested in checking it out. I would also be willing to check out the place in crystal lake.

Well thanks for all of the info. Send me an email , lets go ride sometime. I am thinking about checking out FVOR this weekend. I guess they are having a big event open to all! so email me if you wanna go wheelin..... mjwaldroup@worldnet.att.net

ATVing is like snowmobiling, you have to travel to find the nice spots. Try atvwisconsin.com for trail info. This still does not stop IL. from charging you usages taxes ,which is a bunch of b.s. Email me @ ncustady.com if you would like further info...
