Riding in Virginia
#1
Can anyone tell me some riding spots in Virginia?
Preferably around Richmond, VA. I'm a beginning rider so I am looking for easy comfortable places to ride to learn the machine. I don't want or need a lot of mud, water or rocks at this time, as I need to learn how to handle and ride.
THANKS!

There is an ATV park in Surry that I hear is good, Slades Park. It's right off of rt 10 near Bacon's Castle. There is also a spot that alot of people ride in Chesterfield across from Southside Speedway. Your best bet if you really like to ride is to join a hunt club. even if you don't hunt, it will give you access to some good riding. I am in a club in Sussex where we lease 4500 acres full of fire roads and paths. There are aslo several trails in the George Washington and Jefferson National forest that are public. check out http://www.fs.fed.us/gwjnf/orvtrails.html

Have found the South Pedler Mtn area as a fine place, also the Taskers Gap is interesting if you prefer rocks.
For me I prefer the area called Blakey Ridge, it is behind Madison and Ruth, is 10 miles with harder side routes.
Thanks
