MINNESOTA riderz or wisconsin????
The one bad thing about winter in MN,as far as ATV's go, is a lot of trails close to us after Nov. Most of the snowmobile trails we ride all summer are off limits to us from November to the end of April, and the state lands are regulated much the same. And if an area is open to both, try riding when there are a lot of snowmobiles around. The ones who don't pull up and scream at you for 'ruining' their trails will just buzz by a couple of feet away at 70 - 90 mph to try and drive you off. Sounds harsh, I know, and I have nothing against sleds, it's just after years of winter riding, I have met only a scattered few sled riders that don't outright hate ATVs in 'their' areas. Wisconsin, on the other hand, has about 90 percent of their trails open to ATV use all year round, haven't tried there yet in the winter, so don't know how the sled riders there react to quads. Can't be as bad as the people I've run into here over the years. To be honest, now that my son rides with me all the time, I rarely ride in the winter anymore, too afraid of some a-hole buzzing us and hurting some one, or having my son hear some of the 'comments' I've gotten from sled riders.
