I would like to find some small places to ride in the metro detroit area. Places that you can shoot to after work for a quick fix, or on the weekends. Let's compile a short list of these places and start getting together on evenings and weekends. There are a few small places close to where I live in Shelby Township. They are about 10 acres each. One is accessed through my backyard. There are also areas closeby that have torn out about 30 miles of railroad tracks. I know there are many other small areas to ride around here. Please list them.
Also, if you live in Michigan you need to be a member of the Michigan ATV Association. Please visit the following web site. http://www.miatvassoc.com/ The association is working hard to protect your rights.
There is also a forum at this web site called "Trail Talk"
Thanks.

See my post titled "Michigan ATVers write your congressman". I know they often times just tell you what you want to hear, but the response was positive and sounded like there was some interest in opening a few areas in southeast Michigan. There is only one way to get more riding areas and unfortunately it involves politicians and the DNR.

I just bought a 03 Scrambler and I have sent away for the brochure to joint the Mi ATV group. Do you guys get together and go riding? I work in Auburn Hills and live in Flint, I would love to hook up with a few guys and hit the trails a few times a week. I have a few friends that ride, but they don't have that much time on their hands, plus the more the merrier. Let me know.

Nathan, go to the above post to the miatvassoc.com and you will see rides posted in the (trail talk-----where to ride) area....people usually ride every other weekend or so.....as time permits.....sounds like you have some available on your hands, people are riding the MOUNDS which is right in your backyard (Mt. Morris) and also St. Helens the following day I believe (nov30 & dec. 1), happy trail riding
