Pre Apr1 for sure Hwy 169 anything from 101 to whatever is fine. Trailhead just north of Zylstra HD at Cty road 33.
On Hwy 10 I park at Elk River Orno Park just West of the Beaudry Gast station a mile or two west of the DQ and ride to Big lake or beyond. (Enjoy while you can.) 169 is the future if there is one because there is a big section between ER and BL to be developed and i'll be suprised if it includes ATV ditches. Don't know what the AG zones are so save your $$$ in case your stopped.
Good luck

I would think the ditches are closed until April because it is a snowmobile trail, but I could be wrong. I see alot of wheelers there even though it is just ditch bangin'. There is a guy who is a head honcho for the snowmobile club that lives right on the trail just north of Zimmerman a few miles. I have talked to him and I could tell he doesn't like wheelers one bit. I tried talking sense into him, but not sure if I got any head way.
My self, I stay far and clear of Sherburne County. Just too many city people moving there with there golf carts, mini vans, 4 bedroom houses, and 2.2 children. I don't get bothered too much up here, but I'm still waiting for some newcomer to yell, "get out of my ditch", like he owns the whole roadway. I always try to drive nice if anyone is outside and I try to stay off of owner mowed ditches. It is getting real tough with all the people against us ATV'ers and now we can't ride the state forests.
I'm just gonna stick to "tread lightly" and hope for the best.
