Rattlesnake Bay Closing
#91
Hello everyone. I started typing a good write up about this weekend but somewhere between my stupid computer and the stupid operator it seemed to have gotten erased so I'll try this again.
We had a good time at Little Tiger this weekend. Rebel it sounds like you're ready for a camping trip. We went out this weekend and made that worthy investment in an air mattress. It was probley the best nights sleep I have ever had in the woods. It slept so much like my waterbed that I didn't want to get up in the morning. Could have fallen asleep really fast if it hadn't been for our live entertainment from the nearby Louisiana campers that had consumed a few drinks and wanted to sing about Margaritaville untill 2 in the morning. The guitar player wouldn't have been to bad but his backup singer needed a sock in his mouth to keep the coyotes from howling. Thats ok cause next time they'll wake up to the sound of a wheeler doing donuts in the parking lot at 4:50 in the morning which is just before breakfast (bacon scrambled eggs and the works) which they didn't have. Anyway we had a great time and good old smitty still didn't pick on any pine trees. He kept talking about the being to big or something like that. As I understand that has never stoped him before. We talked about the 4th of July weekend camping at the pipeline and riding. I forgot to tell you guys that its got a sand pit just down the road that we could ride up to and check out. I'll be posting some more info on the website in the very near future. If anyone has any suggestions then shoot and we'll see what we can pull out of our hats. Catch you later guys, and remember, Ride Hard!!!

I am off the 5th. If ya'll plan on going somewhere let me know. Maybe I could meet up with the guys ridding the pipe lines, if the mud can pretty much be avoided, sometime. Or if some are going to Beaumont....That place is the bestest
For the guy looking for sand, sorry I forgot the name and its on the other page, good luck. All I know of are pritavley owned. The is a real nice dirt pit in Perkinson, I have never been just heard. PM Yamaha4life for details/directions.

Hi gang. How is everybody doing? Got your email Rodney, I appreciate the invite. Tied up this
weekend and not the fun kind of tied up. That little storm we had put us behind at work.
I wish I could make it, I am so ready for some R&R. Riding and Relaxing. Got back from
Florida, Monday at 8:00pm and was called out at 2:00am. Who needs sleep. I can't even
ride down at the pond. Our trail is about 5 foot under water. Hope ya'll have good weather
and a safe trip, I know you will have a good time. Let me know when you plan another run.
Has anyone heard if they have started work on RSB? It just doesn't seem to smart to have
shut both trails down at the same time. Wait, that's the government! Final thought- What
would the caveman say if he had a 4wheeler? MUD GOOD.

Andy the ranger at Tiger Creek said they probably won't open rattle snake bay back up. He suggested we write a letter to the head of the district then write a letter to Gene Taylor in washington. His District covers both tiger creek and Rattle Snake BAY. Rattle Snake Bay is in the wiggins office and Tiger Creek is out of the laurel office. Ihaven't gotten any addresses but we need to find some.

Hi guys, I got a letter from Robert E. Lee (kinda funny name for that dude ain't it?) just the other day. It has some stuff in it about the Little Tiger closing. They basically say that lots of people have responded to the closure and that they are going ahead with the closure and will let us know about volenteer work that will be comming up in the future. I agree with Smitty that we need to get some type of letter out to our Rep. because if we don't they could very likely start to forget about our little trail as soon as they get some money(that is supose to go to our trail) that they could use for something else. (like another darn bike trail.) Anyway about their address its 968 Hwy 15 South Laurel, MS 39443. If anyone has anything they would like to send out to them I hope this makes it easier. Anyway if anyone wants a copy of the letter that they sent me just email me and I'll send you one out.

I too read about the guy from biloxi riding in sand....it blew my mind, b/c the only
sand in biloxi is on the beach and they dont have hills..the picture looked like he
was out at perk pit...i just got back from there a few hours ago
there was about 20 bikes there mostly 400s few raptors couple predators,
and a handull of utility bikes...the guy who wrote in is probably from keesler AFB
thats where abouthalf of the people were from and they said about 30 more people
just went out and bought quads...so the place is growing and word is getting out

I talked to my brother-in-law last night, they went to ride at bethel the other day. It is closed
now. That is 3 for the foresty service and 0 for us. It is time to get the ball rolling. We need
to have a meeting to organize for battle. Rodney have you decided if ya'll are going to
expand your club. If you do I am sure we would like to get with your crew. If not, we will
start a club and we will have 2 local groups to work on getting the trails open. Dave, Smitty,
Ward and everyone else, if you have any ideas on when and where we could meet, let's
hear it. The sooner the better. Gene Taylor has an office in Hattiesburg/ 701 Main St.,
suite215,H'burg MS 39401/ 582-3246. I think he needs to be informed on the subject of
trail closings. I am working on some links to more people. Going to talk to the forester about
who we need to see from the US Foresty Service. Any help is useful. RIDE ON ( if you have
somewhere to go)
