WELL I WENT UP TO CANFIELD ON TUESDAY ON A SOLO TRIP ... MADE IT UP TO THE TOP WITH NO PROBLEMS... THE SNOW IS GETTING SOFTER THOUGH! ON THE WAY DOWN I GOT A LITTLE BRAVE AND DECIDED I WANTED TO SPEND 1-1/2 HOURS GETTING UN-STUCK IN ABOUT 18" OF SOFT SLUSHY STUFF. I AM SO GLAD I HAVE A WINCH AND ALOT OF TOW LINE. AFTER I GOT OUT OF THAT MESS I WENT TOWARDS THE FERNAN SIDE AND FOUND TWO OTHER POEPLE WHO WERE STUCK AND I TOWED THEM BACK TO THE TOP. SOON AFTER THAT I HEADED BACK TO THE TRAILHEAD AND MADE A QUICK TRIP TO THE PRESSURE WASHER .WHAT A GREAT DAY !

Well bummer no event's or big rides closeby on that weekend...
I gotta go riding though specially since I'm in the process of modding my Grizz a tad.
Just getting K&N, Dyno Jet and HMF slipon...
I might snorkel it if I can figure out a good way to do it, I wouldn't be able to handle a big sewer pipe sticking straight up thru the racks

Yeah you guys missed a great time.. Me and Jay went up to Mica. We ran into about 1 1/2 ft of snow. Spent a deal of time digging out... I blame that on the tour guide... It was a fun time.
Heres a interactive story for you...
We got outselves into a pickle, man a real mess We went around a corner up on Mica and Jay got his Bomb highcentered, I pulled him out... I turned around and started to back out and then I buried my Polaris. And buried it good. After digging for a bit we went back to the trucks and got everything we had. Went back up and got unburied. Thats with the help of a 17 ft tow strap and 6 tie downs..
Note to self: Buy extra tow strap, buy front winch, buy compact shovel.
Went around the corner and i highcentered myself again... We headed towards lower ground. And ran into MUD!
Did a little hill climbing.
and a little brush riding.
Thanks to Jay for a great time...
The man... The Legend... Mr JayDeeCoy.
Hey Jay did that program work for you? Also Jay I found out that a guy I work with lives like 1 road from where we parked. He wants to go next time. He has thursdays free. He is a welder and is going to help me make a mount for a winch on the rear of my machine. WOO HOO!!
Later all..

Jeff;
Yeah it shrinks stuff real well. I'll have to get busy and put up some pics on my profile next. I just got back from riding out west of town. I showed Nancy where I've been killing coyotes for the last 19 years. It's a pretty cool area out there. looks like nothing would live there, but coyotes love it.
Thursdays are always good for me.

Nice pics, Viper. Looks like it got messy!
My wife & I spent the day up north by Newport & the Pend O'reille river off Hwy 20. It was sunny & like 60 & we rode for about 15 miles....... with my Border Collie, Jesse. I rigged a piece of plywood across the back rack of my quad & spent some time teaching him to ride with me when he was tired. We never saw a single other rider the whole time, but saw plenty of mud & snow on the trails. Jesse ran probably about 1/2 of the time & rode the other half. When he was tired, he was glad to get a lift! And when the ride got a little hairy, he'd jump off & run with us.
The bad part came at the end of the ride. My wife came around a corner, stuck in some ruts, and hit a tree head on at about 10 mph. It hit the front bumper but bent a couple of the supports underneath, pushing the winch into the radiator/oil cooler & blowing the engine oil all over. She stopped the engine about 20 or 30 seconds after impact to check out the damage & noticed the oil draining. I came up & we looked it over & towed her back to the truck & loaded it up..... end of day. Guess we'll be dropping it off at the Cat dealer on Tuesday.

Did any of you happen to read the article about atving in the Sunday paper. It made us out to be the enemy of all that is good. It also put snowmobilers in a bad light. I think it is time for us to all join up with one of the local clubs. Which one is the most politically active?
Don't you just love it when people move here from somewhere they couldn't stand to live, and then they want to make it just like home?

Good call JayDeeCoy.
I'm rifling thru the Spokane Review & the CDA Press & not finding any stories about ATVs at all. What paper are you talking about? Any idea of the article headline or what section it was in?
It might be a good idea to send a well thought out, nicely worded rebuttal to the writer outlining what the good things ATV riders have done in the area.
