That poker run sounds like a riot. 900 riders is unreal! Thats a huge event for any sport, especially this little niche! So where is the Wheel Bar located?

Ragged, we just picked up a pair of Arctic Cats a few weeks ago. We've riden the Liberty Lake ORV park & some trails out by a friend's place near Diamond Lake. It's been a great time & I'm ready to do more. My wife might join us depending on the difficulty of any ride. Plus I have a few friends who want to get out with us. So is there any riding to be done near Newman?

 

The Poker Run is in Smelterville ID. Basically take the Smelterville exit, and find a place to park. All the proceeds benifit the Shrinners Childern fund for the Silver Valley.

 

The Poker run is a good time, but I have two words for you if you plan on attending. Goggles and respirator! When you get 900 machines riding down dry dirt roads the going gets very dusty. Hopefully this year we will get a little rain the night before. Of course you could always give in to old age and get one of those golf carts with knobby tires and a cab. The younger guys will still let you ride with them, but mostly because you have the ability to bring a keg with you. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

I sense a plan coming together. Say, Wiz, how's that Rhino do on a long run? Maybe we should check that out!! So who's collecting for the keg?

 

Hey Turtletrax, glad to hear from you, it’s been awhile. Sal and I are headed down to the deserts of SE Oregon tomorrow and we’ll be putting the Rhino to the extreme test. We’re going camping with a bunch of them Boise renegades, so I’m sure we’ll test the limits of it’s trail capacities, along with it’s load limits!!! We’ll probably be loaded to the max, carrying trail dust cleansing beverages for the whole crew. We’d love to go camping and riding up here, but after watching Rockmans video, I’m afraid we’d probably get hurt playing on the ice and snow.

And Niskbum, I wasn’t planning on bringing the Rhino to the poker run, because everybody would make fun of us, but since you’re already making fun of it and you volunteered supplying the keg, I guess I could change my mind. Iffin’ you can keep up with that Yamaha, I’d even offer some of the contents outta it along the route as I’m waiting for the rest of the crew to catch up with us!!
