Elkaholic;
I am assuming that since you are on this forum, you are not of the opinion that motors are evil.

I thank you for the website and e-mail address, and encourage everyone here on this site to take ten minutes to shoot off an e-mail to these folks letting them know that we atvers are very interested in keeping the woods open to atv use. The folks making those decisions need to hear from calm intelligent citizens, not just the typical sierra club, earth first types. We have the time to chit chat on these forums, so obviously we have the time to e-mail too.

OK Elkaholic;
I just went to the website and read some of the summaries of what has been said in the public meetings. Very interesting. I then contacted them via their website's "contact us" page, which is very easy to use. I stated in my e-mail that I ride an atv and would very much appreciate their consideration when making land use decisions. I also stated that most atv users tend to be older adult users, and fairly new users growing in number. We do not as yet have the numbers that motorcycle riders have, but I think our sport is growing quickly.

After my comments I wrote this.

P.S. I see no reason to reintroduce grizzly bears, unless of course you wanted to release them in Seattle. After all, they did once roam that area.

Jay....You cracked me up with your grizzly comment! TRUE! I have been to a few of the land use meetings for the Colvillle NF and the Horse ridders want more land and they ARE making more of there own trials but with that hard work they expect to recieve much of the motorized areas! They are well organized....and from what I understand...they ARE the majority in these meetings and on many comitties...

If you e-mail the NF you can be put on the update list and after all meetings be e-mailed the minutes...Thats what I have dont now....It is a VERRY long drawn out process and I only attended during the winter when snowmobiles were the topic ....but ATVs and Motorcycles have much more to loose!

Thanks for the reponse JayRRT! You're right , I DO NOT find motors in the woods to be evil. I have lived in this state most all of my life,and have been driving, or riding in many of these places that they want to deny us. I started posting on here-looking for allies against the greenie agenda. I recieved that Info from a fellow snowmobiler and decided to post it everywhere I could. I put it on Snowest forums(3places), Pirate 4x4 (2places), and here (3places) I have found in my experience on these forums that if you only post in the "Land Use" forums- that you will miss most of your affected users, since many are too into having fun to bother with those issues. Please continue to encourage fellow members to speak up for thier rights in the public lands-OUR lands!! Thanks again JAY!

Hi guys,

We have about 6 families or so going to Easton over the July 4th weekend. If you are interested in coming to meet and ride with some of us Westerners, check out the link below. You can call and see if they have any room left. We usually stay in the back group area. Any questions, jump on the Puget Sound Area Riders thread. Would be cool if any of you guys can make it. HI Ragged,

Click on the link in my previous post for info on the Ranch. It is located just West of Cle Elum, at exit 70. They have pay camping. You can also come over for the day and ride. I think I have heard they may charge like $5 day to park there if you just want to come ride for the day.

I think as of right now, we have 12-15 people that will be there for that weekend.
