Wow Slinger, Now thats some good info! Im going to take my quad with me to Moses lake tomorrow. I have to work there till 4pm but Im going to check out the park after that. Are flags and helmets required? We need to hook up Slinger sounds like your only a couple of minuits away...

Im married and have 3 kids, 2 eight yr olds and 1 eleven yr old. I have a 90cc that they ride and a 500sportsman for the wife. Im on a 500 Scrambler 4X4. I jumped on a week or so ago and went over to Kath rd and back on to the state land with the boy. A little road ridding there also!

Mudslinger - Can you legally ride the Jumiper Sand Dunes? Everything I've read and heard leads me to believe they are closed to gas burners. Have you ran into the nature lovers leaping off the dunes while riding there? I love nature, and I want to leap off those dunes too, with my quad of course. Maybe if I promise not to roost the hikers they'll let me ride?

I just found the letter stating BLM aquired section 15 which gives access again. So, you take Pasco-Kahlotus Rd, then turn on Peterson Rd.?

Just got back from Moses lake. Rode about 3 1/2hrs yesterday. Untill I hooked up with a few locals it was pretty boreing. Lots of sand over there but those arnt dunes those are just sandy bumps. I didnt have mountains in MI. but I did have dunes. And dunes are tall enough you would have trouble climbing them! These are bumps. But the wind blew pretty hard the day before and it was real smooth and fun to ride. There were some drop offs that if your not paying attention could realy do some damage!
When I hooked up with the locals it got interesting. We found some good jumping and were tearing it up pretty good!
I gotta get a pipe and reclutch. especially in the sand. that realy taps the power. I let the air psi down to 3 lbs and that realy helped! All in all it was a good ride. (but the work stunk!)

BARap, Ive been told that there are some dunes in ID. down by Yellow stone that are awsome! You cant take trucks or rails into certain areas because they wont be able to climb out.....and its not crowded like Moses lake. And nothing but clean sand and no bushes or trees!

Im still a mountain rider........but the sand was ok to mix things up I'll be back, but not on a weekend the locals say its a zoo...and Memorial day there are 6-7000 poeple! NOT FOR ME!

I'm really interested in the Juniper sand dunes. I agree that Moses is just a bunch of sand bumps. You just have to lower your expectations while you're there. I would imagine more that 7000 people on Memorial weekend. We used to go to Buttercup and Glamis on Thanksgiving when we lived in Arizona in the 80's. They estimated over 300,000 people on that weekend. That was something, and all those weenie wagons, corn on a stick vendors, junk pedalers, it was like a county fair.
