my cousin went out there today, there were a few other riders there, top field isnt posted yet, but soon, all other parkingg areas posted(no trespassing) he talked to the cops, they were real nice, said the owner had it posted because he is afraid of ( lawsuits ) after last accident,he's afraid sooner or later someone is going to sue him. the cops were real nice, said when the owner hears someone riding he calls them and tells them to fine them, they said they wont because people have been coming to the area so long it isnt right( thats the word of one, you never know about the next) they didnt chase them out, they kept riding, so we'll have to see what happens.

What do you guys think about this. We should contact some how him and get him to have some papers to sign with are names addresses phone numbers. It will be a contract that says no matter what you cant sue him.
Also Why dont he puts sign out saying "ride at your own risk"
Im proubally going out this sunday. Im going to see what all happens. Thats the only place where i can teach my sis. We need to stick to gether and think of something.

I was there last Saturday, pretty amazing place. Of course with my big bear I was able to watch everyone else go up and down and have fun. As far as signs go that would be a good ideal. I've heard people say if there's a sign posted that say no trespassing then if there was anybody out of control there then actions can be taken. Like the s10 that was there tied up in the trees, completely uncalled for. Ride at your own risk is also good but it sorta sounds like he's promoting people to go there. I really don't know how the signs hold up in the court of law.

I was told this. The signs hes using are made of wood and painted letters. They wouldent hold up in a court. They need to be those plastic signs and they need to be signed. Thats what im being told im not to sure but it sounds about right.

the sign thing sounds good. Did any one talk to him if you are going up you should print some thing out or write it that will say that you can not sue and sign it ses if he will let you ride then.

Stopped out there wednesday night. Here's the facts I was able to gather from being there and having been there before.
1> There are signs up
2> The signs are made of plywood cutouts painted red and black.
3> There were about 25 people riding bikes and quads on wed. night.
4> There were no cops there for the hour that I was there.
5> There is no attempt to block the trails even th large 4x4's like my amigo(e.g. no dirtpiles)
My own conclusions are....
1. If this was a true attemp to stop everyone riding there would be more signs( I only counted about 10 in the whole place)and barriers would be in place(logs, fence, dirt piles, etc.)
2. Use of plywood signs?????Had to take some time to make and money too.May not be legally binding, but will be there for a long time.
3.None of the riders I talked to had been stopped by anyone.
4.I believe the man (or woman? don't know who owns the property)Is protecting himself.Much easier to fight of a lawsuit if you were on posted private property.
5.Posted to protect himself. But doesn't look like it's being enforced.)
I' going back on sunday afternoon to check it out again(without my quad) we are planning a weekend trip later this summer so I need to be sure before we haul quads and gear an hour away.
I'll keep the forum posted on what I find out.
