Deepwater, MO...ok for beginners?
I saw a lengthy thread below with references to Deepwater, MO. I drive past that area on my way to Branson. I don't know anything about it, I just see a sign that says Deepwater on highway 13. How do I get to the riding area? I just bought a couple of atv's and a dirtbike for my boys (6, 11, 14). Would this be an ok area to ride with beginners? Is this a state park? private land? A short evaluation of Deepwater by those who have ridden it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I haven't been there in a few years. It's on the east side of the hwy, just south of the bridge across the lake. If you look down from hwy 13 you can see part of it as you cross onto the bridge.
Anyhow, yes, it's a good area for beginners. It's state land - not really a state park though.

I have been there a half dozen times. There are all kinds of different riding types there. Its pretty easy to get lost back in some of the areas. One thing you have to watch out for is meeting other quads at intersections there are lots of blind intersections. There area on the north side of the road is a lot more wide open and a small mx track of sorts. The south side is all trails and hills. If it is really wet when you go, there are some holes that you can get down in, and have difficulty getting back out of with 2wd atvs. Should be fun for you though.
