went there today with my son and all the trails off the main road were mounded with piles of dirt...

There was major action to close that area down last year. I spoke to a fellow who said the police showed up one day with a tractor trailor and impounded about 50 ATVs and dirtbikes. He went on to say once impounded, folks had to pay $750 to get their vehicles back.

I have seen articles about the incident on the sierra clubs web site. No, I don't advocate their causes but they have alot of information about ATV issues in NJ.

Part of the issue at Port Elizabeth is that getting to the location they were riding at required ATVing thru State Forrests and wildlife management areas. I thi9nk I read the DEP was involved with the crackdown.

I would reccomend looiking for someplace new to ride.
