Default rhino crankcase

I have a 2005 with 2500 miles on it and the bearing housing for the middle gear is broken out of the crankcase. Anyone else having this problem? I am not easy on a machine but it is pretty well stock and leaves me looking for a 1000 dollars worth of parts. Crankcase, middle gear set and bearing housing plus gaskets and such for the top end. Just wondering if I am the only one having this problem. Was going to trade for a new 700 but am now second guessing myself. Thanks, LT

Unfortunately that is not an uncommon problem with the 660 Rhino. $1000 is cheap to fix it, usually it cost closer to $2000. The whole motor goes boom when that middle drive gear beariing goes bad.

I have heard that the 700 motor has an improved middle drive gear bearing support, but you may want to verify that before spending the money for a 700. The Kawi 750 motor is a much better motor than the Yamaha 660 motor, if you're looking for a new side by side (hint, hint)
