have '06 rhino just got with Rhino tech 3" mid travel kit with King Coil over shocks
and OMF Bead lock Wheels & Maxxis 26" Big Horn Tires AT26X12XR12 & 9 front.

Love the wheels and suspension but it does not track straight- wants to veer to the side on straight, hard surfaces. the shocks are cranked way down. could be the shocks settings? tall tires? but is not stable to drive as is
tks H

You need to check your tire pressure first...

excellent answer - the tires were not all the same and evening them up did help - still not perfect but better - wonder if backing off on the shock compression would help?

Check the Toe in.... On auto's a separated tire can do the same. Doubt that's the case here but thought I'd mention it..

Make sure the ride height is close to the same in the front and back. Measure from the ground to the bottom of the frame in the front of the Rhino and in the back of the Rhino. You want them within a half inch of being the same. If the front is too low the Rhino will tend to be darty feeling and not stay straight as easily. If the front end is too high the Rhino will try to plow straight ahead, and not turn enough.

Air pressure need to be the same in the tires (you already checked this).

Toe in needs to be set somewhere between 0 and 1/4" of toe in.

Good luck.

thanks all - will check as soon as I can get it off the trailer - think I blew a
belt - these things don't push like a bike! it has a lot of suspension work on it
so it is possible that it is not even and the shocks are really cranked down - wonder if they are the same. but first to get it rolling - I oiled the uni CVT filter and now read that may be wrong - smoked and died shortly after doing that

tks H

Sounds like the oiled CVT filter led to an oiled CVT belt. Bummer, ... but nothing a little clean up job and new belt wont fix. If you're still running the OEM sheave now would be the time to upgrade that as well. I have had good results with the Trinity Racing sheave in our Rhino.

I've never used a CVT filter on any of our several CVT equipped ATVs or Rhino's, and not had a problem with dirt or dust causing problems with the CVT transmission. Personally I don't think a filter is needed on the CVT.
