Default hi temp light coming on problem

I have a 2007 rhino 450 that has a hi temp light on the instrument panel that keeps coming on after driving about 15 min. I tried bypassing the fan switch to run constantly, but light still comes on. and the radiator fins are clean. The oil is also ok. Unit run fine. The light goes off if I unplug the sensor on the head. The coolant is up to level If anybody out there has had this problem please help.

Yes, you probably have a faulty sensor, I had to have mine replaced. Rhinos do seem to run a little hotter than I would like as my cooling fan never cycles off in warm weather while the one on my Grizzly 700 does.

I would check the radiator again, it does not take much crud to make the engine overheat. Also make certain to bleed the coolant system of any trapped air (very important). Air can get trapped in the area of the head where the sending unit is and cause the problem.

I installed an aftermarket radiator that forces the coolant through it 3 times before returning to the engine, the fluid only passes through once in the stock radiator. It also has a fan shroud to draw air through the whole core, not just the center.
