Default 660 has rough idle

hay guys I need to advice. I have a 07 660. It has been sitting in my garage. Last time I drove it was July last year. Few times I started it up a few times for 5 minutes between now and then to keep the battery charged. Other day I took it out for a spin and it idles terrible. I had the choke pulled in all the way and had to use carb cleaner to get it started. I had to turn the idle screw in more to keep it idling. It idles slow, and sputters each 4 or 5 cycles. It back fires at times. I was thinking maybe old dirty gas, or the carb needs a good cleaning, dirty spark plug. I never had this problem before with it.
thanks in advance

I would go ahead and clean the carbs / choke assembly and then change the spark plug out as well. Probably a good time to change oil and check the valve clearance as well.

If it has same carbs like the quad I would consider looking at the diaphrams at the top of carbs they can suck air. Have seen pinholes in them or their seal edges flatten out and no longer seal correctly. Spray carb cleaner around them and see if it revs up, if so You need to replace them.

Garyc660r. If it was the valve clearance, wouldn't it backfire, sputter and die all the time ? I didnot change the spark plug I do need to do that.

2strokezilla. Now it does not have the same carb set up as the raptor. The rhino has single carb set up the raptor has duel carbs. But I will look at the diaphragm on it. Do any one think it can be he fuel pump???
