Default yz490 or somthing

I came across a real beat early 90s (i think) yz490 in a bone yard a while ago and it got me thinking. How hard would it be to get a 490 into a warrior or a banshee? besides balance and getting the pipe to fit, how hard would it really be? also, how would you balance the block? It just seems that there is a lot of room in those frames I dont see why it wouldnt /couldnt be done. My old 250 engine was pretty small, the 490 isnt that much bigger in dimension. besides, I wouldnt mind having a warrior 490 2stroke *S* If not the 490, the same could be asked about any dirt bike engine. Seems honda and yamaha are looking at that approach as we speak.

Just a thought.

Where there is a will there is a way, a friend of mine put a 490 engine in a Blaster and it put him into intensive of care three times. It was very fast, and couldn't stop.

cant say a blaster would be my first choice, actually it wouldnt even be a choice.... they have no brakes well essentially no brakes.

so how would you balance the block??

the 03 blasters have good breaks same as the rappy's
as for putting a bigger engine into a quad frame expesially if its a blaster i would suggest bracing stuff because it will vibrate the crap out of everything and have twice the power so make sure you stregthen things up.

good luck on the project

You're right... The 03's have good brakes but not 01's and down.

you would need more than a boat anchor to slow down an old blaster with a 490... thats why I was thinking the warrior of or maybe a shee, leaning more toward the warrior.
