I think you've already made up your mind...get the Banshee, I promise you will not regret it. You can probably get a good deal on a used one, I know I did (but my dad knew the guy and trusted him).
So just get it, it will make you happy. I know its made me

yah, if you get a banshee you'll love it, no doubt about it. it's a wicked bat outta hell, and you'll have no trouble smoking your competition that you mention you rode with. it jumps well, good for about 5 feet of air before you're going to need a landing ramp. don't forget to change your airfilter as often as possible. (typical for any quad) get it man, you won't regret it i promise.

Hey thanks guys, oh and a girl, I have one more question, bat said to bring a compression tester, well if it doesnt have good comp. does that mean you have to rebuild the top end ( rings and pistons ), and if so how much does that cost you, because I thought you have to rebuild the top end like once a year anyways, or somthing like that.
Thanks,
Mark

I agree, like he said check for signs of compression. another sign is if it smokes excessively. itf it's ok, it should last you for quite some time. year to a year and a half, it all depends on how much you ride it. All i know is that i had to get my blaster rebuilt after a year and a half, and that cost me 300$. for the banshee, it'll prolly go a lil higher, but i wouldn't expect it to be over 350$

Just like brokemybanshee said, If the guy can pull the choke, and kick it,and it starts and idles fine within in the first 3 kicks then the motor is most likely fine. If he has to give it half throttle, and kick it 6-7 times quickly, it most likely needs the top end freshened up. Look for play in the A-arms,and rear swing-arm pivots, and axle bearings. Make sure the steering is good and tight(no slack), get on it run through the gears, and put around at low speeds.
As far as reliability goes, I bought a 87' model 5 years ago that still had the original pistons, and rings in it, never even had pipes put on it. I rode it for a year, and sold it to my brother, who also rode it an additional year, and sold it running great. It would still start and idle FIRST kick, and would run as good as any new banshee on the sand. The banshee motors have been around since the early 70's, so they have been "proven" many years before they ever found thier way in to the Banshee some 15 years ago!!
Personally I think every atver should own a banshee at one time or another, even if like me they sell it, they should still EXPERIENCE IT!!!!!!!!
Bigger.
