Tuning the pilot jet
Hey,
alright, i'm finally making some headway on jetting my Warrior. right now i've got a 150 main, and dropped my needle clip one spot. it runs good WOT and in the midrange. but . . . if i'm in gear and let off the gas quickly it pops/backfires a lot, plus i'm still have a bad off-idle stalling problem.
so i'm thinking the pilot jet might need some adjusting. any way to check this? i've tried turning the fuel mixture screw in/out but it doesn't really seem to help the off idle stalling. what size is the stock pilot jet? should i try the next larger pilot jet?
also, where is the accelerator pump located?
thanks,
bigmac

I would check the accelerator pump. My warrior had a bad off idle stall. I finally had to rig an extension for the pump that would narrow the gap between the throttle arm and the accelerator pump. The accelerator pump is the little rod that goes from the bowl up through the rubber boot. I also found a stiffer spring from ball point pen. After that....bada boom. Hope this helps.
