Break in is a time of parts meshing together.....and certainly not a time for heavy loads. This is even more so for a 4 stroke....I recommend staying off the punk throttle on that new $6,500 toy for a while.

 

I remember reading about breaking it in hard on here and they had a link to that website you are probably talking about but i still dont believe it.

 

I just got a 660 about two months ago and just got done breaking it in. I followed the instructions in the owner's manual.
Every time I've seen a car's motor broken in it,my mechanic free rev's it to seat the rings with no load on the motor.
He'll rev it high and the let it drop prolly two dozen times or so. Then heat cycle it a couple times and then go easy on it for the first 500 miles or so.

Also,as far as new Raptors go,I would recommend replacing your rear grab rail asap.
I hit mine twice in low to moderate speed wheelies and broke it.
it bent on the first one and broke on the second one.
Its a very soft piece and really unreliable.
Other than that I am thrilled with mine.

 

No Doubt stay off that stock grab bar!
