Patsraptor: Why? The quad isn't running like Gary said it's now being fixed and he has it tore apart and by looking at how it blew up he can tell it didn't get to hot by examining how it blew up and what it looks like. He's not an idiot.

Well when you get your engine back together and run it with those jets I guess will all find out.

BIgbubba its a total drag what happen to you and everybody here is JUST trying to help you out and not see you make the SAME mistake with a stronger rod because if you use the same jets its going to happen AGAIN!!!!!!

I agree with Pat and the others in that your bike may have been good in the low/mid range with 160/165 mikunis and dynojet needles (which are thinner) but at wide open trottle the 160/165 mains are not enough.

I know your not trying to bash me, and I was planning to up my mains after I got it back together. All I'm saying is that my mechanic that looked at it and took it apart said he saw no clues leading to running hot just simple rod failure.

BigBubba- I am not trying to cause you grief at all. Your piston and combustion chamber had heat coatings on them. Those heat coatings will take more heat then the piston. It was just a thought. We run these quads all week and week ends with out any motor failures.

Gary- I do not use craftsman. I got good at drilling the main jetts and using my wire files. I have gotten to where i am pretty good at putting these motors together. I see alot of them apart at Bob's all the time. You don't want to have a broken quad in my neighbor hood. If it sits for more than 3 hours it becomes a donor parts quad. There are parts on a lot of quads from the superchicken. BTW i am ready to put it back together so i want all my parts back.
