Default My Engine Blew :-(

Someone said something earlier about the Raptor having a stock steel rod. I was under the impression that the stock Raptor rod was aluminum. Any takers??

I believe the stock raptor rod is steel, only engines I have seen aluminum rods in are dragster engines that get rebuilt quite often. I am guessing BigBubba is running the steel Carillo rod now.

BigBubba- Did you have to get new cases? What all new parts did you have to buy? Glad to hear you got it running again.

OH wow! Uhh I'm running the Carillo rod now but in terms of what I had to replace...ugh this is huge. Rod, piston, valves, sleeve, both cases, clutch cover, and the whole transmission. I also replaced parts with heavy duty ones and those are starter one-way and the clutch. I almost had to replace the crank too cause it was pretty beat up but not enough to replace so I just got it balance and cleaned up. Other than that I think thats it.

Wasn't that enough? Sounds like a duplicate of what Ireplaced when my rod blew. New crank all together, both cases, several case bearings, new cylinder, piston. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. It's somthing I'd like to forget and somthing I'm still paying off.
