we have volcanic rock here and i managed to get 2 flats in one day, both fronts. I carry the cabelas CO2 flat fixer kit, like what BlueLeader was talking about. i ended up with a patch on one sidewall and a tube in the other.
the following weekend we went riding with my new holeshot XCTs and i havent had a flat since.
and i got a little more ground clearance in the bargain. Now i save the stockers on rims for the dunes.
and with 6 plys i softened up my springs a bit - got a smoother ride too.

Hahaha......funny you mention this.
I got a flat right away on my brand new Raptor about the first time I took it out in the woods.
After soaping and looking for bubbles I found a tiny pin hole and stuck in it was a piece of a STICK.
Just a tiny little piece of wood.
It was not even very sharp at all!

I could not believe that this thing popped a tire!

Anyway,I plugged it and the plugs work really well,but I plan on getting new tires soon.
This little tiny piece of a stick should NOT have popped an ATV tire...........ANY atv tire!

I forgot what type of plant this thing is that grows in my area, but it is mean. It produces large, sharp thorns and they has as hard as nails! Would not be a good idea to run over one of these plants.

I agree that better tires need to be put on quads from the factory. A stock raptor would be much more 'race ready' with better rims and tires.
