Default Raptor Shifting

When people say "granny-shifting", what does that mean?? How should I be shifting the Raptor? Should I be letting off the gas all the way before pulling in the clutch and then not hitting it again until off the clutch. I am an experienced rider and can shift like that FAST, but is that the best way?

"Granny" shifting in automotive terms is that you are shifting early and lifting off of the throttle when you clutch for a shift. Most people "Power" shift ,meaning that you never lift off of the throttle when clutching a shift, on a motorcycle or ATV. I keep the throttle pinned while drag racing whether I'm on my quad or in my car. However, "Power" shifting is hard on a car's trans. My Cobra's on it's second trans in less than 10K miles. Darn clutch forks! Also preloading the shifter aids in quick shifting in a car. An ATV just requires a quick hit of the clutch lever. Sorry for the rambling.
