Default I am new with ATVs, help please?

Ok.....I am extremley new when it comes to ATVs. I just got a Yamaha Raptor (660, 2001) and I need some help. It is used, and worked when I got it. But, now when I try to start it up, I only hear a clicking noise...and the starter isnt turning over. I found that it is coming from near th battery. I checked both of the fuses, and they werent blown. If you guys can help me at all, then I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks!

Well, the lights work, the front ones and the tail lights. We also tried to jump-start it with a car, and nothing happened. So, I dont thinks that is it.

Did you have the battery out? if you did you may have the wiring wrong. Its easy to do. Also check the wiring to the junk thats just behind the battery. also check those two fuses. hope this helps.

Thats hard to explain. if you have a dealer near by go pop the seat on one. I just looked at mine. Pull the wire bundles behind the batt. and check for corrosion. also check where the ground is connected to the frame. it still sounds like a batt. to me. good luck

If I am not mistaken the power to run the lights is much less than that required for cranking the starter. Your battery is probably nearly dead, OR The starter may be done.
