Width of quad?
#1
Most know that wider is better when it comes to stability, handling, etc. But, what about differences in width from front to rear. Is a front track wider than the rear better? Or vice versa? Or should they be equal, if possible?
I would be very interested in feedback regarding which setup would be best, and under which conditions (woods, fire roads, dunes, etc).

If the fronts are wider than the rear the bike will oversteer. If the rears are wider than the front then the bike will understeer. You really should keep them fairly close to the same width. Maybe a little wider on the rear as to get a small understeer effect.

Thanks. On a full time 4wd like mine, which tends to understeer anyway, perhaps a wider front track might make handling a bit more neutral? I have various offset wheels and spacers at my disposal, and am hoping to optimize my setup.
