Default Aftermarket Grizzly tires

How large of tires can go with on the Grizzly without any modifications? I was considering 27-9-12 (front) and 27-11-12 (back) gators, mudlites or 589 M/S. Could I used 28's without any rubbing from turning on when hitting bumps? Does these larger tires create too much excess stress on the drive train?

The biggest you can put on there is 27"s without any rubbing. If you get 28"s You will have to shave the plastic in some areas. Mudlites are actually the lightest, but I have heard that they wear very quickly. Well for the Grizzly's drivetrain, I've heard a lot of the front CV shafts having problems. Some even with stock tires on. Your bike may be different but it seems to be a common problem. Gorilla axle is coming out with an upgrade or rebuild for the Grizzly front CV shafts soon. If yours does break you may want to check that out or get them beforehand to be safe,

I've got 27" Claws on mine. Fit fine, though if you hit a big dip, the rears will rub a little on that black fender behind the floorboars. Nothing bad though. I trimmed mine off a little actually. Never had any problems yet with CV's, but knock on wood. I know some folks have. Probably has a lot to do with big tires + diff-lock. This is a prime reason that so many polaris's have broken CV's in the past. With true 4wd, there isn't much left to give on something with that much power.

I have 27" 589 m/t's and they rub slightly on the rear but if you let the tire wear it self it almost looks like it came that way from the factory I but the first two hunred miles on mine in the winter ( jumping ice roads on mille lacs lake )and know it only rubs if I take a large jump which is few and far between but I love those tires and they look even better with c-series wheels
