Default Friends Blaster idleing way too high

I went over the other day, seemed fine until he took it out and warmed it up, then I noticed it was revving way too high, I looked all around on/near the carb, and had a service manual (that helped) and thought it was that screw (idle adjustment??) above the carb, you blaster owners know what I mean, and turnedthat and it ran alot better, I thought, oh yeah, Im soo ... oh well, so he took it out, thought it ran good, but again after it warmed up a bit, it started reving too high .

Can anyone help,

Mark

Sounds like you have an air leak, causing a lean condition, which will cause the engine to rev up,sometimes uncontrollably. After it is warmed up and idling fast, try squirting some carb cleaner around the intake and carb area,if the idle changes, you found a leak, could be a crack or a bad gasket. Exhaust leaks can also cause leaning out problems, but since you were able to adjust it on the carb before, I am thinking is is on the intake side, but make sure the exhaust is tight to the cylinder while you're at it.

mine would do that but it was the float sticking. i would hit it on the bowl with a wrench on hammer and it would stop. got sick of it so i bought a 30mm carb.

I'm 99% sure that there will be a crack or rip in the boot between the carb and the motor. Common problem.

If you don't find an intake leak at the insulator like pushin says have the motor "leaked down" if you don't your gonna be replacing parts real soon
Fix this problem while it's still cheap

idle screw could be moving around and slowing turning its self in...if it is rubbing on something
