airraptor,
Thanks for confirming for our readers that advertising on these forums works! As an FYI....Trinity has been an advertiser here since 1997. Everyone has to start somewhere. I wouldn't make it sound like its a bad thing that a new company is getting known via these forums. Trinity's roots here go deep too.

Trinity....
I live about 30 minutes from Trinity. I see their work all the time. I know people that have used them. I see their stroker/big bore kits all the time at Glamis. Trinity has some of the fastests bikes out there. The only problem is, they never run at all. I have never seen such temperamental bikes. They have horrible customer service. Most people end up going somewhere else to get it dialed in.
I personal would never go to Trinity. CTs are not the fastests, but I have never seen a more reliable stroker/big bore than theirs. I just got a Raptor and will go with the Craycraft kit next summer.

Wes,
I think an engine builder's reputation is very subjective. There are different degrees of modifications. For example, a bike can be built that will go extremely fast one time and then grenade. If that one time is for a $100,000.00 purse who cares if it breaks after the race? It served its purpose.
The problem is, engine builders have to build engines within the budget of the buyer and at the direction of the buyer in terms of how heavily modified (and potentially unreliable) the engine should be. You'll hear good and bad things about every engine builder. That comes with the territory.
The best thing is if you have first-hand knowledge about the builder. For example, sounds like you know some people with Trinity bikes that have had problems. Other people know people with Trinity bikes that have been great. In the end....buy from whomever has the best reputation in your circle of people you know and you'll probably be happy.
Mickey Dunlap is a member of these forums as is Trinity and Craycraft. Sparks visits now and then, too. Talk to any of these guys and ask a lot of questions. They're all good builders.

Airraptor you have a clue but you do not know diddley about me. Give it a break. I do not get paid from Craycraft to talk about there engines. You are wrong about the number of craycraft motors out there. There are more than 28 and not everone is on the net. Again i DO NOT get paid by craycraft to talk about motors. (i wish it were that simple). I do some part time work for several ATV companies and do get to test and try out new products that some will and some will never be sold to the public. Bob and Jerry Craycraft are good friends of mine. If Bob needs help i help him out and he does the same for me. Just like you would expect of your friends. The Craycraft name is getting out there and doing quite well. Your attempts to bash always back fire. The fourum users are smarter than you give them credit for, You cause Bobs phone to ring daily with parts orders and motors. Keep up the good work, Bob appreciates it. I used to have a trinity engine and talked about it for a while (unpaid of coarse)
How come you are not talking about your new head?? What shop is doing it??

dbeck,
I do know people that are very happy with Trinity bikes. I just wish they would get the fine tuning down a little better for the ordinary guy and not make everything for the ***** out racer. A bike is really only as good as it is dialed in. Trinity has more motors than probably anyone out at Glamis. They, I my opinion, have the best drag bikes overall when everything is running. I just see too many on trailers all weekend.

Ok I have stayed out of these debates for some time now, but now I have to put in my .02 cents!!!
I finally got to line up the 727 with the cray 686 on Saturday. We ran a 300ft drag neither with wheelie bars and mine with +6 swing arm. We both had a hard time with the hole shot, but the story down the track is that the 727 did have a little more than the 686. My 727 was the fastest 4 stroke there except for a 1126cc quadtana. I will prove this once I get my wheelie bar made and get better tires.
I will say that the 686 does not run bad for what he has in the bike. I would be happy with the gains for the $ he has put in the bike! In fact his is running right behind mine I would say as the 3rd fastest 4 stroke there. Including 2 strokes I would say my quad would only be beat by about 2 banshees that were there. I am extreamly happy with the gains that Trinity gave me... ow yea and there was a 770 there that took a loss to my 727 as well.

Here's one:
FYI, I called JE. The tech said that the 101P is just a casting number. You could find several different sizes of pistons with the same number on them. They are machined from there.
I don't like to see people banned but when someone starts posting out right slanderous lies they should either be made to edit them or be banned.
Here's another quote from that thread;
My 686 piston also has the 101P casting on the inside.

Air,
There is a fundamental problem here. You ASSUME that because Mark is friends with Craycraft that he is automatically going to say bad things about Trinity or anyone else. That is very unfair. Think about it. If someone owns a Polaris ATV and they really like it a lot and someone asks what brand ATV should they buy....the person with the Polaris is going to say Polaris. Its human nature when someone is trying to be helpful to talk about whatever brand/machine/builder they've been very happy with.
You've got to stop second guessing WHY people say what they do or making assumptions about their motivations. Everyone is entitled to express their opinion.
Let me suggest a better approach. If Mark says Trinity's heads are no good -- call him on it. Ask him for anecdotal evidence or technical details as to why the head is no good. Maybe Trinity's heads are no good and have had problems. Ask the right questions and find out if Mark knows what he is talking about. Everyone can learn from those discussions. If you get into personal issues then the topic just goes in the toilet and nobody learns anything other than there are two people who can't get along.
As far as comments you heard on another site....I don't think you've established any credibility here for anyone to put trust into what you say. You've certainly broken my trust on several ocassions.
I challenge both you guys to talk technical and provide some facts. Lets see if we can turn this into a thread that is educational for everyone who reads it.

Air- If you bother to check in the last few weeks i do not bash on Trinity. I am beyond that, to much going on. All i ever wanted was for honest answers. I bought my first trinity because of messages posted on here. ( There were no built motors around here at the time) I feel i was misled big time. Anyway life moves on and so did i. I found a better product and do not mind sharing it. I talked to the raptormans brother in law last night. The raptorman has a full meal deal 727 and Clayton has a 1200 craycraft. THEY are both happy with there rides and run extremely close to one another. I am sure they both wish they were faster. As long as you are happy with your choice i could care less. It is the ones that are unhappy that bother me cause a decision to buy was based off of your comments that were untrue.
You have seen the thread in question since that day. To say you have not followed it would be a lie and you know it. Now you are a lyer and a idiot.
You contridict yourself in the earlier thread about trinity. You said they could build race/dune and drag only and then you go to drag mike for head work. Trinity has a first class shop (you have stated and i have seen pics) and then you jump ship. The debate can rage on for years cause you and i will never race or line up and you bailed from trinity so the point is moot. Had there been flat drag racing you would have seen. Had you dynoed more than 62hp in front of everybody you would be big man on campus instead of having your panties in a wad. You spent the money to make the HP and did not. lol I have stated in the past the problem that i had with my headwork from trinity. It works okay for dune and occasional race but they took to many cc's out of mine and dollarbillz combustion chamber killer the comp ratio. They also did not remove but 6 cc's out of the intake and 4 out of the exhaust. I payed for a better job than i got. I know they have gotten better lately, but i payed for it and did not get the advertised performance. I am tired of talking about it.
I stated that a well built 686 will run as well as a 727 and stick to that. A quad lenght faster is not worth the extra 2500 to most guys if there is a speed difference at all. I have seen 686's put down 727 and head that clayton and Mike beat a 770 with there 686 and 727.
