hey, i have a slightly modified raptor and was thinking about the trinity 727 kit. for the price it costs, is there a great increase in torque and top speed and do you recommend it? thanks

If you do not want to worry about resleeving and taking down the whole engine a 686 has the potential to run about as well in my opinion. Either kit you will see a great increase in hp and torque if it is built correctly. A total package of not just the motor but of other componenets will make or break the way your bike will perform( jetting, gearing, air filter set up,dropping unneccessary weight and tires; stuff of that nature will let your motor work to it fullest potential. Just my 2 cents worth. Hope this helps some. Slim

Two words - Call Craycraft!
Complete 686 packages and tremendous customer service. Out of the blue, Bob Craycraft called me yesterday afternoon to discuss floats, jetting, and intake valve lash. He read the other post on 686 Raptor floats and wanted to make sure I was doing OK. IMHO, that is customer service that you just can't find everywhere.
I haven't dyno'd my 12:1 (actually 13:1 static) 686 Stage II Hotcam Craycraft but I can say that it's a freaking monster now that I'm getting it dialed in. If the 727 is faster, I'm not ready.

Any good engine build will gain you top speed with either longer reving and allow you to run taller gearing with still more power

Air all he wants to do is beat a piped and jetted Banshee with an over size bore. Can you honetly say that spending all that money with Trinity or Craycraft or anyone else for a 727 he is going to be happy.
I had a .080 over, 18cc domes, 4 degree advance key, ported jugs, 34mm PJ's carbs and still couldn't beat Marks 686. I was three or four bike lengths behind him in the 600ft race.

air..why do you ALWAYS try and start something? All they did was recommend a craycraft motor. They didnt say Craycraft is better with trinity..they have had a good experience with Craycraft..and just like you recommend trinity..they recommended craycraft. You're such an instigator.
And you can beat ANY craycraft motor in a drag? K
