My starter just spin does not engage. Has anyone had this on their Grizzly. And do you know if it is the same problem I have read about on the Raptor.

I am not extremely mechanicaly inclined, but it sounds like your starter bendix.

 

tap it with a hammer, always worked on the old tractor [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

I don't really know. I expected them to be the same, Raptor and Griz, but the part#s are just a little different.
Grizzley: 4KB-15590-00-00
Raptor: 5LP-15590-00-00
These are the #s for both of the one way bearrings. I would bet they are the same but the price is a big differance too.?.?.?
It sounds, from what you described, that this would be the problem. I have never heard of it happening on a Grizzley before though.

 

Looks like there is a ton more rollers on the grizzly one-way for cheaper cost? but the overal design has to be very similar. The raptors one-way is most of the flywheel weight. Possibly yamaha didnt need to ad additional flywheel weight and could use less material = less cost??

I may have to pick one of them up and see about the internal bearing
