Why are people comparing the Raptor to the YFZ?
I am a Raptor owner. I love my Raptor. But if I were in the market for a new quad I would surely buy the YFZ. Comparing specs and speculation, I think it will be better at everything except drag racing (modified vs modified) and play riding (due to lack of reverse).
By the way, the first "race ready quad" since the 250R and Quadracer was the Cannondale Moto. But with the extra $4-5000 in your pocket ($12,500 vs. under $8000) just imagine what you can do to the YFZ to make it waste the Moto.
I predict that a YFZ450 with $12,000 into it will be totally competitive with the +$20,000 custom race quads that dominate today. Heck, just a custom aluminum frame costs half as much as a brand new 450. It only seems to be the logical choice for the unsponsored racer on a budget, like 90% of the racers out there.
