Default Premix oils??

Hi,
I was my dealership today and I was looking at those fancy premix racing oils. Holy Sh*t are they expensive 10$ CDN for a tiny bottle. Anyways in the near future I'm going to be getting a Banshee and I wanted to know what is a good oil that doesn't cost a fortune. How about Yamaha 2-R? I know its yamaha factory stuff but my buddy uses it in his 01 YZ125 and it runs just as good as it were to be running a expensive oil. He tried a 24$ Maxima oil (M2C or something?) and he noticed little gains so he sticks to 2-R.

Any input is appreciated

I run the 2r and it works great. I know others that use it without an issue and the top ends seem to hold up as well as any other oils.

Rocky mtn sells it cheaper then my local dealer does.

My freind uses the 2-R in his Shee, No problems yet. I think those high priced oils are the same forumla and they're just trying to sell the name. Just my .02 cents

I use Maximas 927 Castor pre-mix. I used to use the Yamalube in the oil injection, but changed when i took it off. The Maxima smells better, and i think it burns cleaner too. Not much in power gain, just a matter of keeping everything clean, and long lasting. Its really not that much more expensive either.

I use Spectro works great for me. My dealer told me to stay away from Castrol because it does not mix well and will settle to the bottom of the tank. Just what I heard though

castor based oils tend to "spoil" very quickly, gum up carbs etc over any periods of non-use. However they do offer good high temp protection, but the world has pretty much passed them by (castor oils=old dirty), try Maxima K2 for the modern version that is better IMHO. At the same time if you want an oil that is as good, or better, go to Autozone and buy Mobil 1 MX2T for half the money and it works fantastic.

I forgot, all at 32:1

I've been running 50:1. 32:1 is way to rich for my banshee
