Default 242 and Locker combo on wolverine?

I was wondering if you could use the warn 242 and highlifter front locker combo. I dont see why you couldn't because they are diffrient systems. But since the diff, is so small, both might be affected. Let me know what you think...

On Highlifter i found a locker and front end disconnect for about 600 smackers. I Am wondering about the Highlifter Front end locker, although i am not worried about the detroit locker.

Most reports that i have seen say that the Warn unit is preferred. This from riders who have seen/ used both.

You can use whichever unlocker you want with the DGL, makes no difference.

This is great news. I was hoping that i could use the warn and detroit combo. They are both well respected names in the industry.

BTW- what is wrong with the highlifter?

I didn't say ANYTHING was wrong with the HL unit, I am sure that it works fine. Many people have told me that the Warn unit appears to have been a little better engineered, works a little better. Either should do the job, your choice.

I don't know what year your Wolv is, but the HL unit only fits 2000 and up.

Blaster, what did you finally decide on with the gear ratios?

Cool man. I can exactly figure it out either. I think we are about the only ones who have tried doing this so there isnt a whole lot of information out there about it.

I agree. To aid in this prosses i am looking for a OEM parts dealer that will take returns with out a restocking charge, just so i can mesaure the gear diameter. I am also keeping my eyes out for a blown up or wrecked Kodiac with push button 4wd, that is the 400's 2000 and new i think. If the diff.s have diffrient gears i really dont care at this point, just want the push button for fun. Some how i need access to the gear sizes Yamaha uses. This task seems almost impossible.

All right, how many of you Other 4x4 quad owner want to tear down your axles and measure the gear for me???
