Just like you ride it!!!! Just kidding! They didn't say anything about it but I think the trick is to not get it too hot too soon. Keep the RPM's down for the first tank of gas or two. I probably didn't do a very good job as i couldn't help but to hammer it a little down the straights to feel it pull. Man does it rev fast!!!

No I haven't. There are tons of woods trails in Palmer-Sutton area and we ride at KNIK a lot. We have tried a few places but we always go back to those two. There is a LOT of riding in the sutton hills. You can ride 10 different major trails so it is pretty cool.

LOL
You know the funny thing is my budd got a Predator about a month ago and that's what they told him...... I couldn't believe it.
How does that thing compare to your R?
Damn I'm going to have to go there(Sutton)...... You'll have to tell me how to get there.

My r is pretty bad ***, Curtis Sparks 265 National motor, all aftermarket, +3 houser front end with Custom Axis shocks, 4/1 front rims (makes it a plus 2 overall), the list is long. VERY DIFFERENT QUADS. My r sits very low with the zero preload set-up and lowering strut and its wide. It corners like all hell and those shocks rock for the bumps. It is set-up for racing and it steers very precisely but it takes a lot of effort in my opinion. It performs very well but is not as fun for trail riding as this....though I think with a pipe the YZF will out run my "r" in a race. The "r" is very close to the same speed as my Predator with a pipe...a little faster than a piped Raptor. I can beat the Raptor but the Predator would pull ahead in 4th/5th but the "r" would catch it in 6th but not pass it. It is running 18's on the back so a little gearing would change that.

I bought mine off ebay...$6500 + $680 to get here. Kind of wish i had waited now as I expect the price of "r" 's will go down as the new quads come out. There is more talk about Honda releasing a new quad this fall...I bet they will. I can't wait so I bought this one but if it is an aluminum framed CRF450....something might have to go in order to get it.

no doubt... I couldn't wait either! I ain't gettin any younger. The thing that sucks is my summer is pretty much shot in the ***. My unit got activated and sent overseas about two weeks ago. I leave in August sometimes so that means I only have about a month and a half of riding left. Hopefully we have another mild winter.
What shipping company did you use to get you R sent out here?

Thanks, tear it up on that Predator, it is a nice quad. If I rode in more open areas, I would have kept mine. I hope this Yami works out for me...I think it will but I could be just passing time waiting on Honda which is what i was really hoping for. They better do something good....These new quads (YFZ,Predator,Z400..kinda) are getting pretty damn good. It really is a matter of riding what works for you.
