[blue]I use a k&n on my warrior w/outerwear. I ride the riverbed of the south canadian, it doesn't get much dustier than that, and my k&n has worked great. You might look into the possibility that it is your airbox, not your filter, that is restricting you.[/blue]

The K&N Airfilter has shown it's reliability to me and nobody can change that.

I agree with all the other K&N filter users. I've had a K&N filter on my Banshee with an outwear since I bought it. Works great in the dusty conditions I ride in.

I think that you over oiled the K&N. When you did the plug check you saw that it was rich. Let the filter sit on an angle for a day and reinstall it and see if that helps.

I have a K&N filter on my warrior with no holes in my airbox, no jetting. It works great for me.
An earlier poster had said that you might have put to much oil on your filter. Well that gentlemen is absolutely correct by saying that.
Also if you want a little extra protection.
Add a thin coat of Bel-Ray waterproof grease at the front of the filter before inserting it in your airbox. It acts like a gasket between your air box and filter. Trust me this works. My family has been racing Motocross since the early 80's.

Not being facesious, but if you have to clean them more often, that normally means that they are filtering better. Whereas the others are letting the microscopic pass through. I too have used K&N's, and they work great.
