Honda needs a new sport quad that will keep up with the Raptor

 

no the raptor is a way better bike than a yfz

i have too resepect some of hondas ATV's i mean they did come out with the ledgendary 250r but the 400ex it maybe slow but it is a good reliable fourwheeler but the raptor is fast and just plain out better

damn, they are both awesome bikes.. like them both!!!!!!!


you also have to give major props to Honda.. whats to say if they didn't make the 400EX that yamaha would have been content with their current 80's tech bikes? If Honda didn't make the 400EX, there may have never been a Raptor

did the Can's come out before the EX? I honestly don't remember.

when I say props to Honda, I mean in getting people back into sport bikes. I am sure the Cannondales are fine bikes, but they didn't do as much for the sport ATV's as the EX did when it first came out. At least, IMO.

Just a little info. The 400EX came out in 1999. Honda also had the 300EX (since 1993). Yamaha had the Warrior (since 1987) and the Banshee (since 1987). Suzuki had the Quadsport 80. Kawasaki had the Lakota (since 1995) and the Mojave (since 1987). Polaris had something called a Sport 400 (since 1994). No Cannondale. No Predator. No Bomb.

I think that the Raptor (since 2001) and the YFZ are very different quads. Just take them for what they are.

I don't think that Honda needs a new quad to compete with the Raptor unless it's in a straight line.
400EX's have been beating Raptor's in the curves for sometime.

Really the only thing that would beat the 400EX in 1999 was the Banshee and that was also in a straight line. (Writing about quads that could be purchased new in 1999.)

 

Until you guess start racing the YFZ and the raptor against each other you can't say how the YFZ is better or The Raptor is. Its all based on opions and not facts. Personally i think the banshee is faster then both of them specially when bored over and Pipes take the air filter lid off and get a K&N Filter in there. Two totally different quads, Raptor and YFZ, I wish I could have both. Would like to see Honda come out with a 450 with reverse for trails. Then I would probably have all three.
