Warrior stock carb tips and tricks?
#1
I'm trying to get some more performance out of my 96' warrior. I put a supertrapp slip-on system and a K+N air filter in the box with two 1.5 inch holes in it. So any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. Also what do you think proper jetting would be for under 1000 ft above sea level. Thanks

well get it jetted right first. I think u mean get the motor to rev quicker. Trinity makes alot of cool mods for the warrior. head over to www.trinityracing.com and take a look.

Keep it simple....
If you use all the disc on your pipe go one size up on your main jet and do a plug check. If you run a few disc (keeps the noise down) you may not have to re-jet at all.
If you dont mind a small loss of top speed go down one tooth on the front sprocket. You will need about one inch of chain adjustment after. If you chain has streched too much you will have to cut a link out or replace the chain.
You can not make the engine "rev faster" without internal mods.
Good luck.

Obviously the carb does not rev, but on the DS which is what I'm used to tuning you can cut a few coils off of the diaphragm spring and it makes the engine rev quicker. I know the warrior doesn't have a diaphragm and the carb is totally different in design. Just thought people would know some special touches. Guess not

The only 2 things I had to fix/adjust on my carb (same as the Warriors) is replace the accelerator pump spring with an ink pen (click type) spring. It is much stronger, and will keep it from sticking and bogging off the bottom end. And when you have the carb off, push the thumb throttle all the way, and make sure the little butterfly valve in the front (engine side) opens all the way, I noticed mine didn't open all the way, you will have to bend and adjust the linkages under the plastic side cap to get the travel right, then recheck you linkage to the accelerator pump to make sure it is getting a good shot of gas when you open up the throttle.
