i almost got scammed also...i was trying to buy a raptor and the saler wanted me to send the money thru an escrow service via the internet. beware that 99% of the escrow sites on the internet are fake. only use www.escrow.com

Never, ever buy anything over a few hundred dollars without using a service such as iescrow.com.
Beware of selling anything to foreign Countries. They'll send you a check then ask for a refund less $1000 you can keep for your trouble. Except their check doesn't clear and yours does and they get your money.

Forest, im just wondering about the history record of this person on ebay. Were there alot of positive reviews set up from fake previous buyers? Was there any kind of sale history for the seller that made you feel safe? I ask because I just sent off 3650 for a quad via an ebay auction and I too thought i knew what i was doing....till now. My seller had 33 positive reviews, some more than six months old. He had also posted positive and negative reviews of his customers over more than 6 months. I have found that he "supposedly works for an dealer in arkansas and the number he gave did match the number my research showed for that dealership and I did contact him there. but now im wondering.....am i gonna be crying about my stolen loot in a day or two...... thats why i wonder how they had themselves set up......boy am i nervous now........thanks for the heads up

We just had to close our credit card with over $2000+ charges on it that wasn't ours. Stuff like domain names etc...all net purchases. Luckily we don't have to pay any of it, but it's still a hassle. Thieves are right under child molesters as the biggest peices of **** that exist.

I have spent quite a bit on E-bay, but I've never used a Verified account that had more than a couple hundred bucks in it at any one time-- that's just asking for trouble. I've only been burned once, and it was on for $50, so I consider myself lucky. Up to this point I've only got smoking deals and no questionable products. I'm sure my lucky streak is about to run out so I've been very leary lately.
I hope you get your money back and 5 mins alone with the person(s) responsible...

Can you tell me how you got this info? I called and spoke with this guy. he lives at that address, and that is his name. But he has a different phone number. He is barely able to talk on the phone and I think drawing in the dirt with a stick would be difficult for him. So it looks like someone has stolen / forged this part of the puzzle also.
I really appreciate the effort that you took to get this. Guess I will have to contact the internic and see what I can find out. Thanks for all your help. Keep up the good work.
