You can go to godaddy.com and put in the any url as if you wanted to purchase it.. godaddy will tell you its "already taken" and offer you "click for more information".
Put in the numbers godaddy gives you and it will show you the whois stuff above.
I would pass this info on to the FBI if i were you, in the least you are letting him know his identity was stolen aswell.. In the most the FBI may look at his bank records and find your money.

How did you pay? If paid by a CC you can fight that, if paid by a cashiers check call it in stolen. I would try the best you can to get your money, it has to fall out of someone elses account for not checking ID and security. thats bs!!!!!

The person that I thought I was buying from had over 300 good responses. I made over ten e-mail contacts with what I thought to be the seller. I even got a valid vin # from the person. Here is the ebay item # from the auction that I won. Ebay item # 2421952331. go ahead and look at it. The userid that was on the account when I first saw it was "mouthymom" The day I got the notification from ebay, which was on last Thursday morning. I thought I was going to choke. I had just wired the money the afternoon before. I contacted the bank before they opened to get my money wired back, but since Thursday was the day before a 3 day weekend, it was hard to get ahold of the wire transfer company, the bank of america branch where the money was sent. The wire company would only talk to a rep from my bank that had a pin number for sending money. The b of a would not even listen to me.
I was feeling more and more sick as the day went on. Only to be compiled by the fact I had to tell my wife about this also. Imagine, you took out a loan, money was lost via an identity scam, and you have 4 days to hang out and wonder if the cash would be returned or not.
If you look at the correct seller ( bvgftrds) they have almost 300 good responses. Yes I am csimmonsen on ebay.
you will also see the other people who were scammed for polaris, yamaha, and other 4-wheelers.
A couple of the guys did get thier money back. Only because they got ahold of the guy in the middle, threatened the living shi* out of him and nw his father has taken out a loan on thier house to pay the people back.
I have been in contact with the FBI.....they have an internet fraud claim center....something like ifccfbi.org
you can find a link for it on ebays safeharbor. I have a claim there, I also have been in contact with a Darin Brown from the United States Secret Service. If anyone needs this info, contact me via e-mail and I will freely giv it out.
The other kid that was involved says he was hired by a job on monstertrak.com. He was getting money wired to his account the he took a percentage and wired the rest via western union to a person in latvia.
Sorry for taking so much time........I found another scam for a kodiak 4 wheeler on ebay also, that guy claimed to be away on business in italy. I figured it to be a scam when he posted that he lived in middleton idaho, about 30 miles from my house. Ther was no record of him living in my area.....and when I e-mailed him about this, he quit responding to me. I hope this is of help to someone......I really hate how bad I have been stung. FYI....this is a civil matter, and my local police will not even take a statement, or file a report. This Fu**ing sucks.

wow, its a civil matter? seems to smack of "theft by deception" and "grand larceny" to me!!
maybe you should call everyone involved (cia, fbi, ebay,BofA and your own bank) everyday and scream at them if they have nothing new then ask for their superior and scream at them(there is always somebody higher up that doesnt like yelled at and will make things go faster for you so they dont have to hear from you again).

If it was a camo 2004 with a snowplow located in middleton, Idaho. I am pretty sure it was a scam also. I live close to there and I had bid on it. The guy claimed to have a 2001 or 2002 grizz 600 also for sale.

no, it was a 2002 model. i got a message it had been canceled due to problems with the seller. so, there seems to be quite alot of this going on....man oh man....ebay needs to get on the ball. if this happens alot, how are they still going.....

That was the same kind of notification I recieved from ebay the morning after I wired the money. I thought I was going to throw up. I contacted the bank immediately. Now I am up to my knees with a lawyer and talking to the secret service agent. The lawyer is trying to see if we have any recourse against ebay. What a screaming mess. Should I post something on the other atv boards to look at this thread. I would hate anyone to get scammed, no matter what brand they were buying.

I talked with one of the dealers here in Idaho that I have known for many years. He told me about a breakin in the warehouse in Chicago and apparently a bunch of 04 grizzlys were stolen. So beware if you find a screaming deal on an 04 grizzly. JUST FYI...
