Hey, I just wanted to ask everyone about a race, there is a kid I know that has a 2003 white LTZ bone stock and my other friend has a 1988 yz250 with a brand new top and bottem end rebuild. He has a lot of stuff on his bike including, wiseco hot rod, sleeved and bored out to a 400, full port and polish, milled head, boyesen reeds, jetted, FMF pipe and silencer. Well the kid I know with the LTZ thinks in a flat drag race he can eat him...hes really cocky cause he said there is no way an 1988 can beat an 2003 no matter what it is. So I was just wondering what you think about them in a flat drag on the road...they are both good riders and my friend on the yz weighs a little more. Thanks a lot let me know asap

 

i think that the bike will win easy think about it stock 400 about 32 hp or so. a 250 bike has atleast that much and a lot lighter. and if i read it right your saying the bike is moded(i think you made a mistake though did he bore his 250 to a 400 or what), and since it has a rebuilt that fact that its a 1988 shouldn't be 2 bad. I would still say the bike even though its older. ask your friend if he's ever raced an older shee or how about a quadzalla those were all made in the 80s.

 

The kid you know needs to learn how fast MX bikes are. There is no chance in hell that his Z400 would beat the YZ. If the bike is totally rebuilt and has some hop-ups and is bored to a 400 the Z400 would get killed. Basically the Z400 rider is gonna get his *** handed to him.

 

Hey, thanx for your replies and yea the bike is bored out to a 400. I havent seen it run yet cause he is getting new motor mounts, but when he first got it from a friend it was bored out to a 270 and we clocked it at 75 mph...and it got there fast. I think the kid on the LTZ is gonna get smoked too, I want to see him get smoked because he is so cocky.

 

Who the heck without a super modded big bore quad or super modded two-stroke quad would even think about racing a bike. I don't know how powerful an 88 was but give me a break this guy with the z must just be trying to get under your friends skin.

 

Please video tape it and post it on here, I wanna see how patheitc of a race it is lol. Plus you can show it to the stupid kid on the Z how dumb he was. Print out these replies and show him and see what he says.
