YFZ450 VS Raptor
The 450 is not meant for drag racing!!!!
It is an extremely aggressive race bike. Apparently the harder you ride ,the better it handles. Which is normally the case with aftermarket susspension.
You are paying extra for the race package. If I look at what I have spent on my bike to get it race ready, you should not complain about 800 bucks.
If you want a faster bike for straight line speed, go for the raptor!

sry, i didn't mean to come across as making it sound like a drag bike, i was just making a comparison that way, cuz the raptor can't even hang w/ the YFZ in MX, no competition, Yamaha may have lost its Raptor sales (by the way, don't take that last part seriously)

Dont apologise.....
I wasnt having a go at you at all!
You are right about raptor sales. I cant see any reason why someone would bye a Raptor over a 450 if they have a choice. I wasnt trying to protect the Raptor. Its old news.....
I will be getting myself a 450 soon. Think I'll keep my Rap though! Its in a different class! Still the desert, Dune king!

What kind of riding do you like to do?
Desert / Dune the Raptor will be better. Want to modify to get more power the Raptor will be better (more bang for the buck and many options already out there.)
Trails, MX = YFZ
I think there will be a lot of them sold in CA/NV (desert-dune areas) but, the Raptor will still be the leader of the Yamaha camp.

I wonder if the 450 motor is already maxed out? As in, doing just about all it will do? Look at what people are doing with the 660 engine... tons of room for upgrades etc
