glowing header?

Default glowing header?

after gettin my rappy hot........the header glows BRIGHT red......I mean you can see it in the middle of the day..........one of my friends told me that, that means that it is too lean?.......is this true?

It could be lean. Check your plug and see what color it has to it; If it is white gray lookig it is lean. Another thing you can do is look at the end of your pipe and see if it has a white gray looking powder like substance on it; this can be another sign of being lean. Another sign of being real lean is if you gas it and it seems to quit puilling early in the gears it could be lean. To do a proper plug check put a new plug in ride it around for a few minutes and make a wide open pass through 4th gear and shut the bike off at wide open throttle in 4th; coast to a stop then pull your plug out and check it. ok I will have to try that plug test.......but the end of my pipe has Black Sutt on it.......

Check your valves too. Glowing pipes can be a sign of maladjusted valves. If the exhaust valves are too tight you could be sending combustion through your headers.
